Everyday Denmark
By now, everybody knows that living in Denmark is expensive, so we don't really go out for food. However, when we go to Ikea; we have 'lunch dates' where we share Swedish meatballs and desert!
We already mentioned how babies nap outside without surveillance all the time.. So here is our little neighbor, napping this afternoon (0:

He will survive! ( and i got my exercise in; i walked 4km to find a 24h pharmacy lol )
København
Copehagen is the capital of Denmark and we couldn't wait to visit this beautiful town! In Danish, it is named København, and we have learnt that 'havn', which is in a lot of names here, means 'port'. This trip marks the first of many adventures with our Pirates best friend (every year we seem to create an amazing friendship with one of the guys on the team); Kyle 'Eddie' Bushee! He is from Kalamazoo, Michigan, and he is most definitely part of our family here (0: David and him (and Gab) are very similar and to be honest, the best way for me to describe them is 'after they made them, they broke the mold'-type of guys.
Eddie being our Pirates guy, Mikey being our High1 guy... we were lucky enough to meet up with Dennis, our Medvescak guy, as he plays in Copenhagen this year. I hope the next pictures can help you feel the love, the fun, and the excitement of this weekend away in the Danish capital (0:
We got up really early to catch a 5h train ride to Copenhagen, and once there we took an Hop On-Hop Off tour, which I managed to bargain for a really cheap price for the 3 of us.
The first thing I wanted to see was The Little Mermaid.

Not having fun at all!
We learnt a lot during the tour, but as a fun titbit of information, did you know that Danes are allowed to consume alcohol, in public or in private (so at a restaurant or at home) at any age? The only limit is on buying alcohol; they must be at least 18 years old. So as long as you have someone to buy it for you; you can consume it freely!
The watermark on the pictures are from the reflection from the bus' windows.
Bicycles parkings are extremely crowded. There even is a bicycle highway in Copenhagen.
Aldo!! (To the left, I swear!)Boys were saying the statue looked like a wife who is not happy with her husband so.. I gave it a try, although I wasn't that good at it since I'm NEVER mad at David ... Ahahaha
After all that learning and discovering, we met up with Dennis and other friends from both team and really got to enjoy Copenhagen's finest (0:
We met Guillaume Doucet, from the other team. I had to hate him at first with him being from Montreal and all that.. But you know, French people always find a way to friendship (0:
Train ride back home, David got pretty comfortable..Finally, this post wouldn't be complete without our excursion into Christiania, which is better explained here by Wikipedia!
Christiania, also known as Freetown Christiania (Danish:Fristaden Christiania) is a self-proclaimed autonomous neighbourhood of about 850 residents, covering 34 hectares (84 acres) in the borough of Christianshavn in the Danish capitalCopenhagen. Civic authorities in Copenhagen regard Christiania as a large commune, but the area has a unique status in that it is regulated by a special law, the Christiania Law of 1989, which transfers parts of the supervision of the area from the municipality of Copenhagen to the state. It was closed by residents in April 2011, whilst discussions continued with the Danish government as to its future, but is now open again.[1]
Basically, the rules about housing, sanity, and specially possession, selling and consuming cannabis just don't apply to Christiania. It's pretty eerie to walk amongs that kind of chaotic lifestyle!
Oh København; it's only a matter of time before we meet again (0:
Skagen
On our first trip in Denmark, we went to the beach! Not any ordinary beach tho, as it is where two seas meet. Located at the north-east tip of Denmark, Skagen was a short 1.5h trip and we got to see where the Baltic Sea and the North Sea literally smash each other all day, everyday! One being salty and the other one not, it creates beautiful scenery when they meet and fight for territory.
