Pepero Day

Pepero Day is an observance in South Korea similar to Valentine's Day. It is named after the Korean snack Pepero and held on November 11. I went to Myeong-dong on that day and it was packed!! lots of stores were having amazing deal and I certainly took advantage of it (0: who can resist $5 tops or $60 100% cashmere sweaters?! Well.. Not me.

The original purpose of the Pepero Day was to exchange peperos with each other in hopes of becoming taller and thinner. Anahaha that certainly very korean to wish for length and slenderness!! Those are cookie sticks covered in chocolate or any sweet deliciousness, and they are the official candies of that day because the date '11/11' looks like cookie sticks to Koreans.

The current purpose is to exchange peperos to show affection for friends and loved-ones; so we bought some (0: They are absolutely delicious so I'm not sure how this is supposed to keep you thin?
