Kitchen Fun !!

I decided to try to bake fat-free, sugar-free muffins, and document the process. Baking in Asia isn't quite like baking at home.. ( or in North-America ?! ) I've been having a tough time finding good muffin recipes that actually work here, in terms of our mini-Barbie-sized oven and different ingredients. I just winged 3 different batters ( inspired by the ones I know ) and went for it ! Now, why fat-free, sugar-free ? I really don't know.. I guess the pressure to fit into asian clothing is getting to me ?! Ahahaha  (0:

The batters tasted very different, the best one was the 1st one ( the one at the top of the pictures ), followed by 3rd, then 2nd. The first was actually delicious, but I was worried it might be too liquid. The second and third ones were what I expected from usual muffin batters... I really didn't care for the taste of #2, but that's just because it was very dense.

After cooking them, 1st one looked very boring, while 2nd and 3rd looked almost the same.

Taste test !!

1st batter; hands down winner !! Estimated 38 calories/muffin; can't beat that (0:

2nd batter; 2nd best. Very nice texture, but the flavour is super plain. Estimated 92 calories/muffin.

3rd batter; beurk! The muffin is very 'hollow' and falls apart in big chunks. I missed up that one big time ahahahah! Even the flavour can't save it; it's too banal. Estimated 121 calories/muffin.

.. Now if David could just wake-up from his Pre-game nap so we have a 2nd opinion (0:
